HTTP Status Monitoring Agent
Why do we need HTTP Status Monitoring?
Sometimes applications that we do not control show their status information in HTML files. We would
like to know when given values change, as they change, so we can perform actions based on this
information.
The HTTP status monitor is an agent of the Genie - Monitoring platform product. It queries data
from HTML pages on a large scale to discover changes in the Web pages' fields. It launches user
defined event handlers when these changes occur.
The agent can perform this operation very fast using asynchronous operations and complex
algorithms that enable it to monitor multiple Web pages and multiple fields in short cycles. The
agent does not wait for a response from a given node to monitor other nodes.
It contains many flow control parameters that enable it to work in all kinds of networks.
On the node level, the agent supports:
- Monitoring frequency
- Monitoring hours
- Number of threads used
and more...
